Thames Valley Family Health Team (TVFHT) is proudly partnering with Noojimo Health, the first all-Indigenous virtual mental wellness clinic, to provide culturally safe care to individuals who identify as Indigenous.
This exciting partnership furthers TVFHT’s commitment to expand access to team-based care in a culturally safe way. TVFHT patients who identify as Indigenous can be referred to this service, or self-refer, to access virtual counselling from Indigenous clinicians.
“All Noojimo counsellors are two-eyed seers,” says Ro’nikonkatste (Standing Strong Spirit) Bill Hill, Clinician with Noojimo Health. “They are both regulated health professionals and masters prepared registered mental health counsellors; they know their ceremonies, received Teachings and way around the fire.”
“We know how important it is to access care in a culturally safe environment, especially when seeking mental health support,” says Lisa Vreugdenhil, TVFHT Director of Clinical Services. “This partnership is also a learning opportunity for our team on Indigenous health. We’re excited to witness the potential growth in our patients and clinical teams.”
Noojimo Health provides individual, group, youth, and family counselling, as well as facilitated virtual healing circles, and custom support programs. More information and referral support is available on their website: www.noojimohealth.ca.
