Think you may have measles?
Measles activity has increased in several neighbouring communities. If you think you may have measles and need to see a health care provider, we ask that you call your clinic in advance. This will allow us to take the necessary precautions to reduce the risk of infection and protect staff and other patients and visitors.
The following measles screening questions are in effect at Thames Valley Family Health Team:
- Do you have any new onset of the following:
- Rash,
- Fever,
- Runny nose,
- Cough,
- Red watery eyes, or
- Small white spots in your mouth?
- Have you or anyone in your household been exposed to measles in the past three weeks?
For more information about measles, call your family doctor or nurse practitioner. You can also contact your local Health Unit:
- Middlesex-London Health Unit
- Southwestern Public Health Unit (Elgin and Oxford Counties)
