    Learn how to become health-focused and get practical strategies related to nutrition, activity levels and other health behaviours that may influence weight and risk for chronic diseases.
  • Dream On: CBT for Insomnia
    A non-medication approach to help get your sleep back.
  • Families in TRANSition
    Two separate in-person groups that run at the same time:
    • Youth group: This is an opportunity for trans, gender non-conforming, and gender questioning youth to explore identity and self-expression, healthy relationships, and mental health.
    • Parents and Caregivers group: This program provides parents and caregivers of trans, gender non-conforming, and gender questioning youth with a structured, interactive learning experience on supporting youth through transition, and strengthening parent/caregiver-youth relationships.
  • Gender Journeys
    A safe space for individuals age 16+ in the beginning stages of transition to explore questions of gender identity and belonging. We welcome those thinking about transition, those already on their transition journeys, and those who are gender-questioning.
  • Heart Health
    Learn practical approaches to managing your cholesterol levels and reducing your overall cardiovascular disease risk.
  • Leave the Pack Behind: Tools to Quit Smoking
    Review the physical and psychological aspects of nicotine addiction, strategies to help you quit, and medication options that can set you up for success.
  • Learn to Live a Healthy Life with a Chronic Condition – free 6-week workshops hosted by our team at South West Self Management.

  • Let’s Talk about Driving
    Education for older adults, people living with Dementia or MCI, and their family and friends.
  • Powerful Tools for Caregivers
    A free 6-week workshop hosted by our team at South West Self Management that provides caregivers with the tools needed to look after themselves. Learn to reduce stress, improve self-confidence and communication, find balance and identify valuable community resources.
  • Prenatal Information Group
    In these interactive education sessions, our health care providers (including nurses, dietitians and/or mental health counsellors) will provide information about the physical, mental and emotional changes that may occur during the prenatal period.
  • Steady & Strong: A Falls Prevention Group
    Learn the importance of preventing falls in order to stay safe and independent in your own home.
  • Sweet Talk: Managing Your Blood Sugars
    Learn how to change your health behaviours in order to improve your blood sugar control and minimize associated complications.

Mental Health

  • Introduction to Mindfulness
    An introduction to the concept of mindfulness and the benefits to one’s overall health and wellness. Participants will be led through 2-3 mindfulness exercises and learn how to incorporate mindfulness into their lives.
  • Living Mindfully
    An opportunity to learn the impacts of stress on your mind and body, and how to incorporate a variety of mindfulness practices that help develop capacity for calmness and reduce physiological reactivity to stress.
  • Mind Over Mood
    A program that focuses on a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach to treating anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and stress. Learn how thinking differently can affect your feelings, and ultimately your mood, for the better.

Health Promotion & Prevention

  • Mindful Eating: Emotional Eating & Food Craving Management

    An interactive group that focuses on the benefits of mindfulness, how to practice mindful eating, and ultimately how to find balance and heal your relationship with food.
