The Thames Valley Family Health Team Board of Directors includes 11 members—physicians, nurse practitioners, and community representatives—who are elected for their valuable skills and experience. Together, they provide oversight and strategic guidance to support the organization’s mission and ensure high-quality care for the communities we serve.

Join our Board of Directors – Call for Non-Profit Community Volunteer – Finance & Audit Committee
The Thames Valley Family Health Team is one of the largest Family Health Teams (FHT) in Ontario. With more than 120 physicians across 19 sites within London/Middlesex, Oxford and Elgin counties, the Thames Valley Family Health Team is committed to providing comprehensive, collaborative primary health care to over 162,000 patients. Our team includes nurse practitioners, nurses, mental health counsellors, pharmacists, dietitians, occupational and respiratory therapists who provide team-based, patient-centered care.
Thames Valley Family Health Team Board of Directors is a skills based, policy governance board committed to creating an organization that is a primary health care leader and enhances the wellbeing of the people of Thames Valley. The Board is dedicated to building a culture focused on employee wellness, integration and collaboration, health equity, and leadership in primary care.
Who are we looking to recruit?
We are seeking one (1) community volunteer for the Finance & Audit Committee of the Thames Valley Family Health Team Board of Directors to commence in the Fall 2026. The current time commitment would be approximately 4-5 meetings per year with an anticipated duration of 1.5 hours each. Committee members serve for a term of up to two years, subject to renewal. As a member of this committee, you will assist the Treasurer in fulfilling his/her/their duties and responsibilities as outlined in the TVFHT Bylaws. Together with the Treasurer, the committee will be responsible for ensuring that TVFHT funds and financial records are in order at all times in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. The committee will also review the annual budget to be presented to the Board of Directors for approval and monitor the ongoing financial management of TVFHT.
Experience reviewing financial statements on a Board of Directors in the public domain, a good understanding of health-care administration and a desire to lead the way in primary health care delivery are necessary. An accounting designation would be beneficial to this role.
