Accessibility

The Thames Valley Family Health Team (TVFHT) is committed to providing an inclusive, accessible environment in which all individuals are treated with dignity and respect. We strive to meet the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility and meeting the requirements of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). Our commitment to accessibility is an important part of delivering equitable, patient-centred care.

Our Accessibility Principles

TVFHT provides patient care and services based on the following principles:

Dignity
Treating all persons with disabilities as valued individuals deserving of respectful and compassionate care.

Independence
Supporting the use of assistive devices, service animals, and support persons so individuals can access and participate in our programs and services.

Integration
Ensuring people with disabilities can benefit from the same services, in the same or similar way as others. When integration does not meet an individual’s needs, alternative measures will be used.

Equal Opportunity
Providing all patients with the same opportunity to access and benefit from our services.
