Recognizing Administration Professionals at TVFHT

Today, on Administrative Professionals Day, we take a moment to thank and recognize the incredible work of our Team Administrators, Medical Office Administrators, Patient Care Assistant, and Operations Team staff. At Thames Valley Family Health Team, this group of professionals is essential to every aspect of how we serve our communities, from patient visits and clinic operations to complex project roll-outs and regional collaborations.

The Backbone of Our Organization

Thames Valley FHT is a large, multi-site organization with an evolving portfolio of programs and services. Our administrative professionals are responsible for keeping everything running smoothly. This includes managing daily operations, implementing new systems, and supporting both patients and practitioners. When we talk about the “backbone” of our organization, we are truly talking about our administrative professionals.

Whether welcoming patients, coordinating team logistics, or leading site-based activities, our administrative staff ensure details are handled with skill, care, and commitment.

Rising to Meet Extraordinary Demands

This past year has brought more change and pressure than most. Our administrative professionals at our clinics stepped up, again and again, often taking on additional responsibilities and extending themselves across multiple sites. They’ve done this with grace, and always with the needs of our patients top of mind.

Leaders in Change and Implementation

Healthcare is always evolving, and this past year has been a year full of system-wide transformation. Our administrative professionals at our clinics were instrumental in the successful roll-out of critical projects like Online Appointment Booking and the launch of the Elgin Community Health Hub (including pre-launch cancer screening clinics).

These implementations demanded flexibility, time, and agility, often pulling team members away from their regular work. Their ability to lead through these changes has been inspiring.

Champions of Team Culture and Morale

Amidst sector-wide challenges, our administrative professionals at our clinics have continued to lead by example, fostering supportive, positive work environments and helping their teams stay grounded. At each site, our administrative professionals contribute to a strong team culture, often leading the smooth operations and supporting their colleagues.

A Lean & Mighty Operations Team

Behind the scenes, our lean Operations Team is doing big things. In addition to their core work, they’ve taken on expanded responsibilities – supporting internal finance, HR, quality improvement, communications, and more. Their capacity has also grown externally, with the team offering services to physician clinics, FHTs, and community partners.

Their ability to seamlessly deliver a high volume of meaningful work is a testament to their professionalism and efficiency. They are agile, responsive, and critical to our ability to adapt and grow as an organization.

With Deep Gratitude

Today and every day, we express our heartfelt appreciation for our administrative professionals. Your contributions power Thames Valley FHT, shape patient experiences, and strengthen our organization. Thank you for your leadership, your care, your resilience, and your unwavering dedication.

You truly are the heartbeat of our operations.
