We recognize the Nursing team at TVFHT for their daily impact on our patients, organization, and community.
This week, May 11 -17, 2026, we join healthcare organizations across Canada in celebrating National Nursing Week. The theme this year is The Power of Nursing to Transform Health.
Significant Impact on Real People
The TVFHT nursing team makes real impacts in the lives of patients and community members.
During the 2025-2026 fiscal year, they had over 18,000 total visits with more than 11,000 unique patients.
They provided over
- 3,100 preventative care visits
- 2,300 post hospital discharge follow-ups
- 1,000 immunizations
- 450 cervical cancer screenings
- 240 referrals to group programming
On the topic of group programming, TVFHT nurses educate patients on important health programs including:
- Dream On: CBT for Insomnia;
- Heart Health;
- Introduction to Mindfulness;
- Steady and Strong: A Falls Prevention Group; and,
- Sweet Talk: Managing Your Blood Sugars.
These programs are essential for preventing illness, promoting wellness, and empowering our community to take control of their health outcomes.
Thank You for Your Dedication
We truly value The Power of Nursing to Transform Lives. We celebrate how our nurses add value organization and our communities. They are care providers, educators, advocates, and leaders. They provide a reassuring presence, deliver clinical care, lead health promotion programs, and collaborate with other team members.
On behalf of everyone at Thames Valley Family Health Team, thank you to our nursing team for your dedication, compassion, and leadership!
