Social Workers Support Communities

During Social Work Week we celebrate the dedication of our social workers, who provide essential mental health support in primary care.

As we observe Social Work Week from March 3 to 9, 2025, we take this opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate the contributions of our social workers at Thames Valley Family Health Team. This year’s theme, “Wherever You Are, So Are We,” aptly reflects their unwavering commitment to supporting individuals and our communities.

The Essential Role of Social Workers

Social workers are integral in assisting individuals to develop skills and navigate challenges such as depression, anxiety, stress, and adaptation to illness. Our team of social workers also facilitate groups, including Introduction to Mindfulness and Living Mindfully which are both open to the public. Additionally, they provide groups for our patients that help participants discover how Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can help with anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and stress.

Meeting High Demand with Caring Resources

In the face of high demand for mental health support, our social workers are often the bridge to care. They provide critical support, working to reduce the strain on hospitals and emergency departments.

This week, we thank our social workers for their resilience and commitment!
