Celebrating The Power of Nursing at TVFHT

This week, May 12 – 18, 2025, we join healthcare organizations across the country in celebrating National Nursing Week. This year, we celebrate The Power of Nursing. We honour the TVFHT Nursing team for their amazing impact on our patients, our organization, and our community.

Leading With Compassion and Clinical Excellence

Our nursing team’s professionalism, leadership, and care help us succeed and grow. Over the past year, our nurses have taken on more clinical responsibilities. This includes essential services like PAP tests, health screenings, and treatments for UTIs, pharyngitis, and more. By leading in new areas, they improve access and quality of care for our patients every day.

Supporting Recovery, Reducing Strain on the System

Our nurses are leaders in follow-up care. They make sure patients get the support they need after leaving the hospital. In the past year, they made 4,875 follow-up contacts. This work helps patients recover safely and successfully. It also cuts down on unnecessary ER visits and hospital re-admissions. This eases the strain on our health system.

Empowering Health Through Community Programs

TVFHT nurses teach popular and important health programs. This includes:

These programs are essential for preventing illness, promoting wellness, and empowering our community with better health tools.

Thank You for Your Dedication

As we celebrate The Power of Nursing, we know how important our nurses are to our organization and our communities. They are care providers, educators, advocates, and leaders. They provide a reassuring presence, deliver clinical care, lead health promotion programs, and collaborate with other team members.

On behalf of everyone at Thames Valley Family Health Team, thank you to our nursing team for your dedication, compassion, and leadership!
